Eric and Joanne Kragenbrink

Eric and Joanne Kragenbrink are the lead singers in a band called Goor Aryeh (Lion's Whelp in Hebrew).
Eric was raised in his grandfather’s Foursquare Gospel Church and came to know Jesus (Y’shua) at the age of seven at a Father’s and Son’s banquet. It was a momentous event which has lasted over forty-three years.
In 1975, he had the opportunity to attend biblical studies at the Jesus Christ Light and Power House, a training program developed by a group called Christian Associates which was affiliated with author Hal Lindsey. Since Hal takes a pro-Semitic stance in his ministry, he found himself under the training of several teachers who had graduated from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and related the gospel with the cultural flavor of the Chosen People…namely the Jews. He then saw the New Testament (Brit Chadashah in Hebrew) related to the Old Testament (Tenakh in Hebrew) and that in fact, the Brit Chadashah was the fulfillment of the writings we receive our faith from. He also got a taste of the lifestyle, customs and culture of the very people God exclusively picked to receive and transmit His oracles. Their lifestyle was a cultural model developed from knowing God after receiving the very revelation of God’s existence. For a Jew to be religious, it is a lifestyle, not just a creed or belief.
Joanne is a singer and pianist whose talent was discovered early by her childhood piano teacher. She was married to a military man, and had three children with him before he abandoned her and left the country. After a few years without anyone but YHVH to help, she met Eric. Eric had gotten his start in Messianic music while singing and playing guitar with the music group at the Messianic Synagogue he was attending. It was also there that he met Joanne, and they became a ministry of praise and worship, and they later started Goor Aryeh.
